"Tidbits from the Cupboard"
The Food Cupboard is an all volunteer,
ecumenical program, providing supplemental food to residents of South
Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, and surrounding communities. We
are located in the basement of St. John the Evangelist Church, 611 Maine
Street, South Portland.
We are open every Thursday morning from 9 am
to 12 noon, and share over a week's worth of food with every family. We
have an application process based on federal poverty guidelines to
determine the percentage of income and level of need. Individuals and
families who qualify can access the Food Cupboard once a month. We are
currently sharing our food with 40 families a week.
We welcome donations of food, money, and
